PEABODY’S COAL TRAIN
Peabody’s Coal Train (PCT) is a unique, local NH acoustic Americana 6-piece band featuring strings and shared vocal harmonies. Musicians are Jason Teaster on acoustic guitar, Dave Anderson on harmonica, Steve Cybulski on banjo, Dave Carroll on mandolin, Larry Houghton on upright bass, and Scott Hayes on guitar and dobro. Our home is the Contoocook River Valley of central, NH. We enjoy playing originals and covers that tell stories which celebrate the triumphs and tragedies of the human condition. We particularly appreciate opportunities to interact with a listening audience in special venues with neighbors and new friends.
Harmonica and vocals
“A shy clod farmer. Loves this band of brothers. Boils maple sap while listening and singing along to Drive By Truckers, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Chris Knight, Turnpike Troubadours, Reckless Kelly and Grateful Dead. Plays Blues harp. Abides.”
Acoustic Guitar and Vocals
A native of the mountain south, JT brings his Appalachian credibility to the sound and feel of PCT's repertoire. He's fallen in love with New England and feels lucky to have found a kinship with the brothers in Peabody's Coal Train. JT lives in South Sutton with his wife and daughter.

Larry is a bit of a late comer to music. He developed a passion for music and began to play around the age 30. While getting his PhD at Virginia Tech, his friend Bill Richardson convinced him to play upright bass for his southern string band “The Jugbusters”. After enjoying 6 great years of friendship, music, and gigs with the Jugbusters, the call of family and the White Mountains lured him back home to NH. Larry loves to dance with his bass. You'll often find him hopping up and down with the beat. He is a multi-instrumentalist and song writer who enjoys playing bass, guitar, mandolin, piano, singing and most recently fiddle. Larry has played out with and/or recorded with many bands covering several genres of music over the years. Beyond the Jugbusters, he also played with Paul Clark and the Lonesome Drifters, The Ecotones, Spooky Legs, Uncle Larry, Jackass Menagerie, Tmud and the Spuds, Cody and Company, Highway 77, Colonel Cletus and the Swamp Yankees, The Hickory Horned Devils, The Sustainabillies, and Type A. He is currently playing with the Part Timers, Tyler Road, Deep Fried Satellites, and, of course, Peabody's Coal Train. Larry grew up in New Boston, NH - moved away for 20 years and now is living in Concord, NH - He teaches Earth and Environmental Science at Goffstown High School. Music is his passion and he looks forward to sharing the music with folks all about.
